Team

The officers of RVB Partners, and the part of the work each is responsible for.

Who does what

The officers, and what each is responsible for.

  • Finn Van Den Bosch

    President

    Research, portfolios and production

Works across the full chain: researching strategies, developing and validating them, deciding which enter a portfolio and at what weight, funding that portfolio on its own account, and following it once it is live.

  • Elias Garcia-Baron

    General manager

    Research, portfolios and production

Works across the same chain: strategy research and development, validation, portfolio construction, going live and monitoring. Also builds the internal tooling the firm searches with, including the retrieval system used to work through the literature and the firm's own past results.

  • Florian Rizzo

    General manager

    Framework and measurement

Builds and maintains the framework that research and the live desk share: the single module every metric is computed by, the accounting engine that turns target weights into returns, and the publishing chain behind this track record, so a live figure and the backtest behind it are computed on the same definitions.

How the team works

Shared responsibilities, one codebase.

The work is shared rather than owned. Every portfolio published on this site was built collectively: no portfolio is one person’s idea run on one person’s account, and no strategy enters a portfolio without being measured against everything else the firm has already searched.

There is one instrument behind both halves of that. The same metrics module computes a Sharpe ratio in research and on the desk, the same accounting engine applies the same execution delay and the same cost treatment to both, and the live path re-uses the research path rather than re-implementing it. Two people looking at the same returns therefore see the same numbers.

Every change to the framework, the catalogue and this site is versioned and reviewed, which is what makes the published record re-derivable.

The three areas

Research
Finding ideas, testing them, and recording every test.
Portfolios
Selecting what survives, setting weights, funding the account and monitoring it.
Framework
The metrics module, the accounting engine and the publishing chain.
